WHY NOVI DORĆOL IS STATE OF THE ART

Inspired by what used to be Belgrade’s industrial zone, Novi Dorćol is a unique blend of sophisticated modern architecture with period features of the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries. Novi Dorćol preserves the spirit of the old part of Belgrade and reflects the inspiration and creativity of inner city living. The new residential and commercial complex stands where the centre of the textile industry was born. This is where the first royal chartered hemp and cotton company Aleksa Obradović & Co. was founded in the late 19^th century. After the Second World War it was replaced by a lift company named after WW2 hero David Pajić Daka.

In preserving the old Dorćol spirit by restoring the Platnara plant and integrating elements of the production halls in the new development, the project will keep the memory of 19^th century industrial architecture. Combining period features and contemporary architectural trends is an architectural approach embraced by the world’s metropolises such as New York and London.

Novi Dorćol has been carefully developed to offer something completely new and extraordinary on the Serbian market. This is why Novi Dorćol is true state of the art.
